4.2 Submit Video Assignment
When submitting video assignments, please follow the steps listed below.
Step #1 - Click Module Link
Some instructors will also have an "Assignment" link available in the menu bar. If your instructor has enabled that feature, you will be able to access your assignments there as well.
Step #2- Click Assignment Link
Your instructor should have your assignments linked on the main module menu, or in each individual module page. Please reach out to your instructor directly if you are having a difficult time locating assignments in Canvas.
Step #3 - Select Submission Type
The Canvas LMS provides several different ways to upload media, and you are free to choose which option works best. The next step will highlight how to upload using Canvas Studio.
Step #4 - Choose Video Location
Submission Type
When using Canvas Studio, students have three different options to choose from.
Option 1 - Record
This option allows students to record videos directly on their devices using their computer's webcam. Using this option will minimize the number of steps needed to submit video assignments.
Option 2 - Add
This feature allows students to upload previously recorded videos from their device, or embed videos directly from YouTube. When submitting a video assignment, using the drag and drop feature will be used more often than copying/pasting a YouTube link.
Option 3 - Search
Using option 3, students can search through all previously uploaded Canvas Studio videos. If one of these videos satisfies the assignment criteria, they are welcome to use this feature.
Step #5 - Embed Video
After the video has been selected, students will need to embed the video within the assignment prior to submitting the assignment.
Step #6 - Submit Assignment
After the video has been embedded, the last step is to click the "Submit Assignment" button.
