1. Recommended Browsers
We have learned that Canvas works better with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox than with Internet Explorer. If Internet Explorer is currently your only browser, you may want to install Chrome or Firefox. We highly recommend updating to the newest version of whatever browser you are using as well as updating to the most recent Flash plug-in. For more details, see Canvas Supported Browsers
2. Getting Help
Quincy College has purchased Tier 1 support, provided by Canvas. What does this mean for you? If you need help, please look for the link in the lower left-hand corner of this page. How do I get help with Canvas as a student? Canvas Student Support is available 24/7, 365 days a year through chat, phone or via email.
3. Canvas App
The Canvas Student app is the mobile version of Canvas that helps students stay current with their courses anywhere. The app is handy for checking messages, completing assignments and quizzes, reading announcements, and checking your grades. Download the Canvas Student app on Android and iOS devices. You can find information about how to use the Canvas app in the Canvas Guides, Canvas Student Guide for Android, and Canvas Student Guide for IOS.

5. Setting Your Notification Preferences
You can select how and when you want to be notified when various events occur within a course. You will be notified whenever there is a change in a due date, an updated assignment, or a message sent from within Canvas. Canvas supports notification through email, SMS text message, and Twitter. You can choose to receive notification alerts immediately, daily, weekly, or never.

6. How to Download the Free Adobe Reader
Some of the files in this course are PDF files and require Adobe Reader. If you don't have Adobe Reader on your computer, download the free Adobe Reader.
