Faculty Support

If you have questions about course materials or assignments, follow your professor's communication policy outlined in the syllabus.

If you are unable to locate a communication policy on the syllabus, you can find your professor's contact information on the Welcome page of this course. Accessibility Tools

  • Microsoft Immersive Reader

Microsoft's Immersive ReaderLinks to an external site. is a tool built into Microsoft products such as Word, Outlook, and Teams that implements proven techniques to improve reading and writing for people regardless of their age or ability. Immersive Readers allows you to adjust items such as page color and text spacing; focus in on one, three, or five lines of text at a time; highlight parts of speech; read text and math equations aloud and more.

To access Immersive Reader

      • In most Microsoft products: select the View tab, then select Immersive Reader.
      • In Canvas: select the Immersive Reader button in the top-right corner of any page.
  • Live Captions in Google Chrome

The live caption option in Google Chrome allows you to turn on live captions for any playable media/video within or outside this course. To activate live captions, click here.

  • Free Translation Options for Websites and Documents

You can translate webpages and documents into many languages on some devices. Click here for directions on how to translate websites and documents using computer web browsers and mobile devices.

  • QC Tutoring Services

On Campus: QC offers free, in person tutoring services. All tutoring is walk-in, no appointments needed.

The schedule for in person tutoring will be posted in Canvas in the QC Virtual Tutoring Center course, the QC Tutoring webpage QC Tutoring Services webpageLinks to an external site. and by the Tutoring Center, RM 337 in Presidents Place, Quincy.

Online: All QC Students have access to our Virtual (online) Tutoring Center to get the academic support that you need from the comfort of your home. All students can drop-in virtually for tutoring with QC peer and professional tutors. No appointment required. The QC Virtual Tutoring Center (QCVT) is located in Canvas just like your academic courses.  Students must accept the QCVT course for access by clicking on the enrollment link in the QC Canvas Resource on the left-side Canvas Menu.

  • Brainfuse Online Tutoring

All of our tutoring services are free, including Brainfuse. Take advantage of this critical and convenient service today!

Brainfuse offers 24/7 drop-in tutoring and appointments AND a Writing Lab where you can submit your writing assignments for 24 hour feedback.   This service is free to Quincy College students.  Access Brainfuse through the Brainfuse link in your Canvas academic course menu, or by clicking the Brainfuse link in the QC Virtual Tutoring Center to be recognized as a Quincy College student.
