Course Description
An introductory course covering the general topics of planning, organizing, directing, and controlling. Included are the historic developments of management as a separate discipline within organizations, the changing scope and styles of management, and the application of management principles in the business environment.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
CLO1: Compare and contrast the theoretical schools of management thought.
CLO2: Identify and discuss the major environmental forces that influence a manager’s work.
CLO3: Discuss the functions of management and how they work independently and collaboratively.
CLO4: Define organizational culture and discuss how a company’s culture is show internally and externally.
CLO5: Differentiate between management and leadership.
CLO6: Summarize the stages of conflict and the role of conflict management.
CLO7: Identify and discuss the major factors in work design.
