Hello! This week we will be reviewing the key theories and concepts we have discussed all semester.

  1. Explain and discuss the sociological perspective, its theory and methodologies (CLO 1)
  2. Explain what is meant by “culture”, describe its components, and debate the dilemmas of ethnocentrism (CLO 2)
  3. Discuss socialization and contribute to the nature/nurture (CLO 3)
  4. Understand social interaction, the nature of groups and the dynamics of organizations (CLO 4)
  5. Discuss the sociological meaning of sexuality and identify the processes of normalization of “deviant” behaviors. (CLO 5)
  6. Understand and critique social, global, and gender stratification (CLO 6)
  7. Define and discuss race and ethnicity (CLO 7)
  8. Describe and analyze the shifts in economic and political forms from the pre-modern to the post- modern era. (CLO 8)
  9. Understand the roles of major societal institutions such as the family, religion, education and medicine (CLO 9)
  10. Explain how demographics, urbanization, and environmental trends have contributed to new social forms (CLO 10)
