Review:

Review the section titles and sub-headings. This will give you an outline of the topics that will be covered and can help you structure your notes.
Get a sense of length and how much time to schedule for reading. You may aim to create 10-15 minute blocks instead of trying to read for multiple hours at once.
Read the Chapter Summary and end of chapter questions. Notice which topics or themes are highlighted.

Look back to your summaries and create an outline. Mark topics you did not understand.
Create a concept map that shows the connections between different topics and terms.
Practice with the end of chapter questions. Identify what topics you need more practice with.
Create your own exam questions. Create a question for each chapter section that targets the main theme or skill.
Write down the questions you still have so that you can ask your instructor and peers.
