Human resources management (HRM) helps organizations build and maintain positive relationships with their employees and adds value in several ways:

Supports employees

HRM programs and activities support employees throughout their lifecycle, from recruitment to retirement. This includes identifying workforce needs, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and selecting the right people for the job. HRM also helps ensure that employees are rewarded appropriately through compensation surveys, benchmarking industry standards, and developing salary structures. In addition to monetary rewards, HRM designs benefits packages that can enhance work-life balance and job satisfaction.
Promotes profitability

HRM can help organizations ensure profitability through effective cost management. Labor costs, such as salaries, benefits, and payroll taxes, can often represent the largest expense category in an organization, up to 70% of total company expenses.
Strategic planning

HRM can help organizations create a coherent framework for hiring, managing, and developing employees to support their long-term goals. This involves consulting with top executives on strategic planning and ensuring that the various aspects of people management work together to drive behavior and climate to meet performance targets.
