Preparing Your Team for NAEYC Accreditation: Workshop Development

Imagine you are a childcare center director or FCC owner/director tasked with preparing your staff and families for the NAEYC accreditation process. You will design a comprehensive workshop that educates and empowers your team about NAEYC accreditation criteria, best practices in early childhood education, and effective strategies for navigating the accreditation process.

To begin, be sure to review the NAEYC accreditation materials posted in the module.

1. Create a presentation or informational handout summarizing the key components of the accreditation criteria, emphasizing how they contribute to program quality and positive child outcomes. Provide a brief overview of the NAEYC accreditation process, including the steps involved and key milestones. (1 page)

2. Develop 3 discussion prompts that allow staff members or families to share how they might experience and/or support the process of NAEYC accreditation in your program. (3 sentences)

3. Imagine how families or staff might respond to these 3 discussion prompts, and write a sample response for each (from the perspective of families or staff). (2 paragraphs for each discussion prompt)
