The first video below shows a speech communication expert analyzing President Trump's first speech to the US Congress. If you didn't watch that speech, the 2nd video has the complete speech. You can watch some excerpts from it to get the idea. You can activate Closed Captioning if you want. That's from C-Span.Org, a great site that has archives of a lot of speech communication, including interviews, press conferences, and public speeches. The 3rd link is a favorable analysis of Trump' address to the US Congress.
After that are some random sites that came up from my google search for analyses of Trump's speaking.
One of the goals of this course is for students to not only be able to become good public speakers, but also to become competent critical reviewers and analysts of others' speeches. So, for example, you can look at this first video as a model of someone who is able to competently critically analyze a speech.
With all of these speeches, we need to keep in mind key aspects such as the purpose of the speech, the style, the audience, and so on. Please keep going to your MindTap textbook to learn more. Listen for key terms that analysts use when they describe and analyze speeches.
One aspect i will be looking at in your achievement in this course is your ability to incorporate knowledge of key aspects of communication into your description and analysis of classmates' speeches, the speeches of public figures, and your own speeches. That's separate from being able to speak well yourself. I'm expecting you to learn to do both.
I will be posting these URLs within Modules in Canvas, in topical categories, so that you can refer to them more easily and throughout the semester.

It's the 3rd graphic from the end that presents various US presidents' speech styles. I need to see if I can find a way to get this chart more presentable for you.
