Welcome to ENG 111: OT 1, and textbook with required digital platform from Cengage, called MindTap

I'm very much looking forward to working together with you to develop our speech communication skills (Yes, I also intend to improve mine!). We will be using "The Speaker's Handbook" (12th edition) based in the Cengage MindTap digital platform. Both are required You will NOT need the paper book (unless you prefer reading in paper), but you WILL need the digital access code, which you can purchase at the QC Bookstore,  or directly from Cengage. Cengage offers a 2-week free trial. I will be sending another, more specific link to you. Be sure to get the 12th edition. A packaged bundle, including a loose-leaf version of the paper textbook, should be available for the 12th edition.  You will need the MindTap in order to take this online course. It's not enough to have only the physical textbook. The MindTap has the app called Bongo, where you will be doing your speeches, and all the knowledge-based activities, quizzes, etc., so this is absolutely necessary. Note that used textbooks usually do not have a currently active live access code to the digital platform. Please contact me with any questions. I will be updating you, probably later today. Students with financial aid can purchase only through the QC Bookstore.
